Going Hybrid in Style

Green wheels can be pretty slick, since Porsche jumped on the bandwagon of hybrid cars. Behold the Porsche Spyder 918 Hybrid. This car is still too fast to keep under speed limits, with a top speed of just under 320 km/h, but it emits about as much as a small compact car. It’s clear Porsche is making a good move, offering the same horsepower with an extremely low carbon emission: 70 grams of CO2 per km, where the average CO2-emission of cars is supposedly 172g/km. It also puts this beast well under the Toyota Prius with an average output of 89g/km… I’d know what to pick.

It’s still a concept car though, so don’t ask me where or when to buy. If you really want to take a look – and are in the neighborhood - head on over to the Geneva Motor Show and find hall 6, it’s there! If you can’t, you’ll have to settle with the video (like me):
