The Future of Cellphone Charging

The Future of Cellphone Charging

Last week the Finish cellphone giant Nokia filed a US patent for a cellphone that recharges through kinetic energy. The cellphone features a small generator that is able to convert movement into energy.. smart thinking. The patent reminded me of a brilliant little invention I stumbled upon a while back on the Greender Gadgets Awards website: the Go Mechanical Phonecharger. Indian based company Elephant Design was looking for a solution for the lack of power sockets in India and the rising number of cellphones in the country. They came up with a charger that generates electricity by rolling a little wheel over your leg or any other surface. I guess the future of energy is going back to the basics: energy through movement on a small scale.
